Jolly Christmas/Holiday Sneak Peek

Like I said we've got lots of awesome stuff coming this month! It's going to be a Jolly Holiday and next week I'll have all the details on what's coming, but until then, here's a sneak peek at what you can expect!



There's nothing more fun than building a gingerbread house and decorating it for the holiday! Now if I just had some blinking lights... hmmm.

"King" Yavn's Mailbag

I've been getting email from players asking about the VMK Trading Card Game: Advanced. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about it. We're making sure that it is everything we promised it would be before releasing it. So keep watching the Newsletter for updates on when it will be available. Don't worry... it will be here soon!

Many of you have also written in about some of the problems you've seen with game features, billboards and loading screens. The new functionality in the game has caused a few problems we're still working out - so please be patient. We should have those bugs squashed very shortly.

In the meantime, I hope you guys like all the new stuff – we've got lots more great events and items on the way!

Doesn't seem like we'll be seeing the Advanced VMK Tcg for a while now.

VMK Centeral closed.

As you may or may not know, the VMK Central in WDW is no more. It has also been removed from DLR. This is what the VMK newsletter page had to say about it:

The in-Park Questing portion of VMK at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World has ended. September 30, 2007 was the last day to redeem a Quest or get a virtual reward from VMK Central.

VMK Central will not offer or redeem Quest or distribute any Rewards after September 30, 2007.

Why is this happening?

As time has gone by, we've changed the way Quest, Rewards and other parts of VMK work. The game, very much like the Disney Parks, is always changing.

We've always tried to experiment with unique ways of doing things, like in-Park Questing, and will continue to do that (for example, we'll still be doing cool stuff in the Parks, like Merchandise Cards and the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Quest) - but those things won't revolve just around VMK Central.

Can I turn in Quest to Magic Kingdom Guest Relations after VMK Central is gone?

No.

Can I mail in my Quest?

No. Walt Disney World doesn't have a system in place to take the Quest or distribute rewards.

When is the last day I can play or redeem a Quest at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World?

The last day you can Quest in-Park and redeem a Quest at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World for a Reward is September 30, 2007.

Will I be able to get any more VMK Cards at Walt Disney World or the Magic Kingdom?
The regular Reward Cards that you receive as awards for completing Quest won't be available after September 30, but look for those VMK Pin Card sets at select Pin Trading locations. For information about new cards, check future editions of the VMK Newsletter.

Does this mean VMK is going to end?

No. Just because we're closing VMK Central at the Magic Kingdom does not mean the game is going away. In fact, the game will continue going strong! And we've got lots of exciting additions coming in the next few months – stay tuned!

Prince & Princess quest

The quest, as seen in the image, is giving out a brand new pin.

Dictionary dance = BAN

Don't Dictionary Dance

The VMK Dictionary is in place for a reason. If you "dance" around the dictionary to say something you shouldn't, you could get banned.

Bad words have no place in VMK and neither do words that sound or read like bad words (but are spelled differently). The VMK Dictionary will never allow players to use bad words. "Dancing" around the VMK Dictionary to use bad words (or words that aren't in the dictionary) in chat could get you banned.

Fall pins, Donald released

"All the Leaves are Brown..."

Okay... Maybe they aren't brown where you are yet, but we can watch them change colors together with this month's "Fab 5 Fall Leaves" pin series! As each pin is released, you will see the leaf in the background change color like on a real tree! The Mickey Pin is the first of the 5 Pin set (check out that snazzy Donald pin!) be sure to collect them all!



The Donald pin is now on sale in the Emporium.

Enchanted Ride-A-Thon

Well, as it seems to now be an annual thing, VMK is soon hosting another Ride-a-thon.

Royal Ride-A-Thon

Dress like royalty and take part in the biggest Ride-A-Thon the Kingdom has ever seen! A king's ransom in treasure will be awarded to the Kingdom! More details to come!

This months theme is clearly setting the stage for Disney's new movie, Enchanted.

Red Stitch Hat

Now availiable for 550 points on the Disney movie rewards site is the red stitch hat. Also availiable is the Mickey Mouse Window.

Cracking down on hackers.

VMK has officialy announced a permanent ban (10 years) to anyone who hacks the VMK system:

Using ANY hacking, scripting or editing program that modifies VMK, changes the game or generates codes from our mini-games is against VMK Values and will result in a permanent ban of your VMK account. This is a serious violation of the VMK Values.

If you are found to be involved in this type of activity, we will place a ban on your account (and computer) that will keep you and anyone in your family from playing the game – forever.

THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS !

You're not just hurting yourself – but your actions will affect other players on the same computer. What should you do to make sure you're not banned? Don't use ANY programs that generate codes and don't use any codes that you haven't earned yourself by playing our games.

So yeah, don't hack VMK.

New Royalty Items

Alright, Theres alot of news today. The last thing is the new "Royalty" items.









These items can be used to create a castly of you (the player's) own.

Fall Pin

A Thanksgiving themed pin has been released in the Emporium for 500 Credits:

Christmas/ holiday Main Street

A selection of Christmas/holiday songs can be heard in each room. Also, if you wait long enough the room will play "Gloria."

New VMK costumes

For starters, I'm sure you've already checked out those Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora costumes – these fantastic outfits will make sure you look your best when battling fire-breathing dragons or just heading to a royal ball.



There have been princess costumes for girls for the past few years. Finally a prince costume for boys!

Well, VMK Videos has been abandoned for quite a while now do to my excess interest in Kingdom Hearts (or was it an addiction?) Anyway, the site(s) have been redone and or updated. The Tours of VMK are still incomplete since the Adventureland video was all messed up and strange. I'll rerecord that sometime soon.
